Frequently Asked Questions
- This frequently asked questions guide aims to clarify the topics customers are most curious about about tattoos, piercings, permanent make-up and tattoo removal procedures.
Tattoo
Yes, getting a tattoo can be painful, but the degree of pain varies from person to person and depending on the area where the tattoo is applied. Some areas (e.g. ribs, ankle) may be more sensitive.
Tattoo care is very important. Keep your tattoo clean and moist for the first 24 hours. Gently wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap and apply the moisturizing cream recommended by the tattoo artist. Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight and prolonged contact with water.
It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the surface of the tattoo to heal, although full healing may take several months. Avoid scratching and irritating your tattoo during healing.
It is very important to choose an experienced, licensed tattoo artist who works in a sterile environment. Review the tattoo artist’s portfolio and make sure it meets hygiene standards.
Piercing
Getting a piercing may cause mild pain, but the pain is usually short-lived. The feeling of pain may vary depending on the area where the piercing is performed.
It is very important to keep the piercing clean. Clean the piercing with a saline solution twice a day for the first few weeks. Be careful not to move the piercing or touch it with dirty hands.
Piercing healing time varies depending on the area. While earlobe piercings can heal in 6-8 weeks, cartilage piercings can take several months.
Keep the piercing area clean and dry. Avoid places that pose a risk of infection, such as pools and saunas, and be careful not to constantly touch the piercing.
Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup applications may cause slight discomfort, but are generally not painful. Topical anesthetic creams are generally used during application.
The permanence of permanent make-up may vary between 1-5 years depending on skin type, care and environmental factors.
It is important to keep the area clean after permanent make-up and protect it from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with water on the area for the first week and use a moisturizing cream.
Permanent make-up applications usually take 1-2 hours. Touch-up may be required after the first application.
Tattoo Removal
The most common tattoo removal method is laser tattoo removal. The laser breaks the tattoo ink into pieces, and the body eliminates these pieces over time.
Tattoo removal may cause some discomfort, but is generally tolerable. Cooling techniques or anesthetic creams may be used during application.
It may take 5-10 sessions depending on the size, color and ink density of the tattoo. It may be necessary to wait 6-8 weeks between sessions.
It is important to keep the area clean and dry after tattoo removal. Avoid direct sunlight and prolonged contact with water. Use antibacterial cream to prevent infection.
